The Old Course
The Old Course, built in 1892 by Donald Ross is the matriarch of the three courses where 9 year-old Sam Snead once caddied and made hickory shaft clubs. Carved out of the mountainous terrain, this hilly course offers every kind of lie you could ever experience during a round of golf, with breathtaking views of the Homestead. From the first tee, the oldest in continuous use in America, you will go on to play six par three, six par four and six par five holes that challenge not only your visual perception, but your insight of the game as well. The smaller greens are more challenging to hit, whether it’s your first shot or your approach shot. The short game will be a key factor in scoring on this enjoyable course. You certainly won’t be disappointed with the beauty of the surroundings as you give way to a relaxing golf adventure.
